PowerPoint slide show on Unit Internet Advancement

 

To get your password for your unit you must contact the Council registrar and be registered in that unit; see: Staff Contacts

To use Internet Advancement:

  1. Select the unit advancement processor for your unit. This person must have Internet connectivity and Microsoft Internet Explorer.  Submit their name to the council by calling 1-800-572-8603 (then you will be given an access number item 2) or email your contact info and request to Council Registrar or contact your District Executive: Staff   
  2. Obtain a unit ID code from the council, or the unit advancement processor attends roundtable, and can obtain the unit ID code there.
  3. Gather information for advancement, including merit badge applications and advancement records with dates.
  4. Click Internet Advancement on this page. Follow the instructions in Internet Advancement to process advancements and print an advancement report.
  5. Have the appropriate people sign the printed unit advancement report and submit it to the council. Save a copy for your files.  Units should submit monthly before the end of each month, or more often if needed. Each December, submit a final year-end report before the end of the month to update unit and council statistics.
     

Update your advancement for your unit online and officially in BSA scoutnet! 

Process ranks and awards for packs, troops, teams, crews, ships, and posts

Units can now submit advancement for unit youth members online. Use Internet Advancement for the following:

  • Add ranks, merit badges, and awards
  • Update information on existing advancements (excepting the Eagle Scout rank)
  • Uses the same access code for Good Turn for America Service Report and online advancement www.goodturnforamerica.org/  Note: a different access code is required for recharter. 

Training

A flyer at roundtable will have information on Internet Advancement. Each unit must select an adult to be its advancement processor, and this adult should attend the training at Pow-Wow. Additionally, anyone who wants to learn more about Internet Advancement can review the help information.
